Fun Dip!!!!

In my childhood these two words brought a shot of excitement to my body that could only be matched by the adrenaline rush of sugary goodness I would soon partake.

Today, I introduced my children to one of the greatest candy creations since the peanut butter cup. How can you possibly go wrong with a solid sugar substance that you lick and then place into a powdery sugar substance. Simply ingenious!

After coaching Olivia as to the importance of not eating the stick, she and Whitney then began the half hour process of licking and dipping. During this time of consumption I learned something extremely important that I must share with all parents, so pay close attention.

If your kids are talking your head off (I know, that's really funny coming from me) or simply driving you bonkers, might I suggest this 65 cent investment.

Once I gave them each their individual
Fun Dips they sat at the table in silence licking and dipping. Occasionally one would look at the other and say, "Hmmm...this is good!" and that was pretty much it. The rest of time was spent in glorious silence. That is of course until the sugar kicked in followed by constant running around the living room coffee table.

However, I know something they don't know. Every sugar rush comes with a sugar low and their should kick in right around bed time. Simply ingenious!

If there is one flaw in the fabulous Fun Dip, it is that I felt it really should come with two sticks. One just never seemed to be enough for all the powder! Unfortunately, yesterday's fun dip has been replaced with today's "Baby Bottle Pop" and "Ring Pops" which aren't nearly as good.

Great news! Today's Fun Dip comes with 2 sticks. Clearly the Willy Wonka company has seen the error of their ways.

Whaddaya mean "don't eat the stick?" That's the best part! I used to just pour the sugar powder down my gullet and then munch on the stick.

It's so great to read your blog and keep up with your little family! For a few weeks I have been following your Dad's, Sam's, and Audrey's blogs and everytime I saw a comment from you or Mindy, I kept trying to link to your blog, but nothing was active. Imagine my delight a few days ago when I clicked on your name and a real live blog came up! Your girls are darling. This next one is a girl, right? You'll have to let me know how it is having 3 (well, 4) girls. Can one man really handle that much drama?

Just yesterday I stood in the candy isle staring at the Fun Dip and wondering, "Are my boys ready for Fun Dip? Should I get some for our upcoming plane trip?" Alas, I didn't do it. And now I wish I had.

Dude, warning on the "Baby Bottle Pop" - it's super dangerous! Sparky got one on a mom and son outing one time a few years ago and he swallowed too much of the sugar in one sitting and seriously choked and couldn't breathe! It was sort of scary. Now, I'm guessing most people prolly don't ingest the ENTIRE bottle at once... BUT.... there you go. Don't say I didn't warn you!

You know, I just bought Fun Dip for Dalin last week. He is going to give them out for Valentine's. I always loved the stick and not the powder. As a mom, I hate the powder, it seems to magically go from the package to the floor in about two seconds, then manages to somehow get very sticky.

Growing up Chick O Sticks were my favorite sugar fix. I only liked the stick from Fun Dip. It's good to know Fun Dip still even exists! Do you remember the candy cigarettes?

Okay, my boys LOVE these. We just tried a new tropical flavor last week...oooooh! AND I bought these for the boys' Valentine's to give to their friends. Okay, maybe I'm more excited about than they are.
